Position of Purity

[2/2 series]

The position of purity isn’t a place of arrival or a specific distance away from sin but rather a state of mind, heart, and spirit.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” – Psalm 51:10

God wants us to be pure. [Matthew 5:8] Whether or not we are dwelling in purity affects our worship, our relationships, our motives, our job, our prayers life, and our very salvation.

So– in summary, purity is pretty much a big deal. It seemingly affects every aspect of our life. Purity gives reason for what we think about, what we do and why we do it. Purity or the lack there of is the looking glass into ourselves, questioning our genuine motive and integrity.

God wants u to be pure but purity isn’t a place of arrival, it’s not a destination.

Even as children, we are born with a child-like innocence and purity. However I would dare to say children are not pure simply because they are born for we are born into a world of sin but rather their lack of experience and independence.

Purity is a state of mind, heart, and spirit. Children are fresh into the world and have ever- developing brains and bodies they are ignorant of most of the evil our matured minds as adults, we are aware of. Sadly as we grow up we are made more and more aware; aware of all the millions of things that are out to steal our purity.

Losing some innocence and gaining independence to make our own choices we also choose to remain in or flee from purity.

Purity is a state of mind, what do you think about?

what do you treasure?

who are you giving all of your love to?

How do you treat others?

Purity is a state in spirit..

Is God #1 in your life?

Are you without sin?

Have you been born-again?

Purity is less superficial than what you do, what you say, and where you go. Purity can’t be determined by the hours spent in prayer, or the money given to charity. Purity is not something you can see on the outside but rather something that digs root on the inside.

In the words of John Piper,

“Jesus did not come into the world simply because we have some bad habits that need broken. He came into the world because we have such dirty hearts that need to be purified.”

Living independent from God we are subject to live like a slave to our own nature. It is only through Jesus that we can be purified, because purification is not a place of arrival, it’s not a specific distance from sin  and it’s not an outfit you can put on.

The purification process comes through faith in jesus Christ and submission unto His will; there’s no purity living outside of the will of God.

How? Well, living outside of the will of God is indeed disobedience and disobedience is sin and sin, well, it can’t hold hands with purity.

The position of purity; Do you want to position yourself in a way that pleases God? Then start in your heart. start in your mind. start in your spirit.

Submit to God and His purification process. Allow Him to cleanse you and rend you of your dirtiness.

The position of purity is, well, where you stand with God.
