The Bible tells us that God speaks once, twice, yet man doesn’t perceive it. [Job 33:14] Could it be that in late July of 2018 God is speaking yet we, the people of God, “perceive it not”?
We know God doesn’t change.[Hebrews 13:8]
We know God still speaks to us. [Jeremiah 33:3]
Also we know we can hear Him speak. [John 10:7]
So it’s no question that God is indeed speaking in 2018; so the bigger question is, who is listening to Him?
I’m sure we have all been there, the phone is ringing, we hear it ring, yet we don’t pick up; sending them to voicemail. Perhaps we’re tired or upset, maybe we just don’t feel like talking..so we pin it on our later selves to handle. We later listen to the message we should’ve heard earlier, hours, sometimes days after it’s been delivered.
Now, I know Jesus doesn’t have the I Phone X or the latest galaxy released but He is definitely calling His people. He’s calling us to prayer, fasting, sacrifice, a deeper walk with Him.
So many times I’ve been guilty of sending Jeuss to voicemail. I know He’s calling me to prayer but I get on social media anyway. I know He’s calling me to fast but I go through the drive-thru anyway. Just like that, in the push of a button, one decision to ignore/neglect His voice, I send His direct message directly into my inbox.
Truth is it seems like He calls at all the wrong times, early in the morning, when you’ve worked a full day and don’t feel like reading. However those times are ironically the best times to answer His call. It’s in the timeswe crucify the flesh that we grow in in the spirit.
Listen, I know you’re busy,I know it seems like the work is never done and the trouble never ends but when Jesus calls you, answer.
Don’t send Him to voicemail.
Stop waiting until tomorrow.
Stop delaying your obedience by refusing to hear.
Answer now; hear Him now.
Everything else can wait, you need to take this; Jesus is calling.
