“Faith is not believing that God can. It is knowing that God will.”- Ben Stein
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” -Hebrews 11:1 [KJV]
To have faith is to be shielded from the fiery darts of the evil one. [Ephesians 6:16]
To have faith is to possess a fundamental substance to please God. [Hebrews 11:6]
To have faith is to place a deadly power in a sling and a small, smooth stone. [1 Samuel 17]
To have faith is to hammer 300 x 50 x 30 cubits of gopher wood for a boat that had no water to sail in. [Genesis chapters 6-9]
To have faith is to make an insufficient supply, sufficient enough to feed a crowd of five thousand. [Matthew 14:13-21]
To have faith is to walk between two walls of water on dry ground. [ Exodus 14]
To have faith is to keep believing after twelve years of disappointments. [ Mark 25-34]
The definition of experiment is a test, trial, or tentative procedure. Faith- in Jesus Christ is the controlled variable in the experiment of our spirituality. The Bible says in Philippians 4:13 that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us and it also says that with God all things are possible, however you can’t accomplish much in Christ at all if you lack faith. Trying to thrive in Christianity without faith is like trying to drive a car with no gas; not going to get very far.
Although, believe me, I know what it feels to have weak faith. I know what it feels like to have laid your shield down and be targeted by the enemy. We all have seasons where we struggle to believe but as a beloved teacher of mine once said the solution to all this is simply to reach down and pick your shield back up.
That’s it; no complex strategy, no extensive formula, just pick it up. It’s right where you left it.
Crazy irrational faith.
Crazy= senseless; impractical.
Irrational= without the faculty of reason; deprived of reason.
Faith rejects common sense. Faith rejects reason.
The books would tell you the definition of faith is “a belief that is not based on proof” but the Bible tells us that faith is the evidence of things not yet seen. To have faith is to believe that the impossible can be done and that no matter what man’s fact says; God’s perfect truth can contradict it. Common sense can’t explain miracles and healings; Reason can’t explain salvation.
I challenge you to strive for crazy, irrational, faith.
Take God at. His. Word.
Be spiritually minded.
Know that God’s yes triumphs the world’s no.
Have your confidence in God be defined by His flawless truth rather than your flawed eyes perception.
“To have faith is to believe that the impossible can be done and that no matter what man’s fact says; God’s perfect truth can contradict it.”
God is not a man that He should lie [ Numbers 23:19] so believe simply because He is truth. If having faith means I’m deprived of reason then just call me crazy, and irrational.
God is faithful; keep on believing. Reason doesn’t having a thing on your faith.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight”- 2 Corinthians 5:7 [KJV]
